I came across this by accident as i was looking on Google tonight for closing remarks to a old television show so i typed in Red Skelton as i thought he might have said the quote i was searching for. My parents and i watched his show on television when i was a young kid in the late 60's and early 70's til his show ended.
I came across this video on YouTube and im telling you i watched it listened carefully and was brought to tears by this. It's called Red Skelton's Pledge of Alligence his teacher had taught him when he was in school.
Listen as he talks as the teacher did to him as a student explaining the meaning of each word of the Pledge of Alligence. And pay close attention to the part where the people dictate things to the government not the government to us,that this is a government for the people and by the people things sure have flipped flopped around on that.
And the very end of the video got real emotional for me as he says i quote " Since i was a young boy 2 states have been added to the United States of America and two words have been added to the Pledge of Alligence, Under God, wouldn't it be a pity if someone thought this was a prayer and it would be removed from the schools to?" You could tell he got emotional after saying that at the end.
Just imagine someone doing that on the television now days you would have so many anti- christians and anti -americans outraged they would want the show taken off the air.
Sad to say Red Skelton passed on several years ago. The clip from the show was dated Jan 14,1969 hard to believe not even 40 years later and Under God and prayer has both been removed from schools and look at the sorry state of the schools now its scary sending your child off to school. Specially teenagers alot have a lack of respect for the country and or about anyone older or younger than they are.
Some have brung guns to school and kill classmates and teachers so they feel they will get their few seconds of fame. Because someone hasn't taught them or allowed them to love this country and love God and be able to say a prayer or taught them the freedoms we have and who died for us to keep us free to enjoy those freedoms so hardly fought for.
When i was in school i could pray in class if i chose to and when us kids said the Pledge of Alligence in the morning before class started the schools was alot better off and safer place to be. So was it so wrong to have God in school ? Please watch the video from The Red Skelton Show and tell me what you think? Did it move you? I truely loved seeing this blast from the past that i think more people who are patriotic and truely love this country ought to show this to their children.

Yes we were better off when God was allowed in our schools. It was also a time when we did not allow the government in the schools. Gee I wonder which one was better for the country.
