Im not a very unhappy Iowan im a pissed off Iowan! They want to raise taxs on us. Raising the liscense fees wasnt good enough now they want to jack up the gas tax some more. How about some cuts to Culvers salary im sure he would make up for it from some lobby money donated to his campaign coffer. What does a person who lives off the state need much money for anyways? He lives in Terrace Hill we pay the bills for it. I would imagine we buy his groceries as well. Transportation is supplied as Governor. I could do the job on less than 10,000 bucks that would save the state of Iowa 132,000 grand right there alone.Heck throw in some lobby money and I would do it for free.
Why dont you greedy tax mongers tax the dam lottery tickets its actually something I dont need to live on its my choice to buy them or not. Now gasoline on the other hand I dont have no choice as living in rural Iowa anyone knows you got to drive a ways to get to a town and back.And living on a fixed budget is also a pain when you see any type of increase like this.
Why? Because it will increase the cost of food so not only takes more money to get to town will take more money to buy groceries.Steve Rielly said quote "Nobody's actually come to me and said, 'You're putting me in a bad position." Oh I forgot its probably a rich democrat only district wouldnt have any poor people in it I imagine. Go talk to Iowans alot who drive alot everyday to get to work.They dont want to see higher gas prices the more money they have to spend for gas is the lesser they can spend on food and the less amount of money to spend on things that stimulate the economy,like buying tv's dvd players computers,food,cloths.
The state lawmakers are supposed to be public servants and work for us the people of Iowa. Seems like were the servants for King Culver and cohorts and if we dont cough up the money they will tax it out of us. One reason there is a shortfall in road fund money in first place was because the gas was so high last year so the bright idea seems to be lets push it back up to last years levels again. Nickel here dime there I hear the federal government wants a .50 cent increase in gas tax some time this year also that right there would put gas up near $2.30-2.40 at current price of $1.81.
Its time for some reponsibility from our elected officials we intrusted you to do whats right for Iowa when spending our taxs and all I see is irresponsibility and over budgeting by our state officials. Im sick and tired of this, to think we came to this the new world because taxs was to high and revolted when the king raised the tax on tea. Im ready to have a Iowa tea party ! Lets start fresh vote them all out!
