like a game of Chutes and Ladders. But this is gonna be more costly than a game of Chutes and Ladders. If any of you can make sense of this chart then your doing better than i am. But for you and the rest of us in America this will not be a game. I don’t know why we are going down this path. For one its never worked in any country thats tried it. And the ones that do have it are abandoning it. There is long waiting lists to get treatments. And if they say your treatment will cost to much you get turned down. Thats why there are Canadians coming to America for surgeries and cancer treatments and heart surgeries. My nephew lived in Ottawa and he was on a waiting list for over 6 months before he could have his stint checked for any blockages. I have some personal experience least with Canadas anyway.

I say it won’t be long til we will catch up with some of the highest taxed countries citizens. Its going to take loads of money to pay for this not to mention Tax and Trade alias Cap and Trade bill if it gets passed by the Senate. We also got rising inflation due to come from all the money we have printed. How much is to much? And who says this should be a right given to us? The Obama administration thinks it should be a right i think he has read to many socialism for dummies books. Socialism works til you run out of someone elses money. I personally would like to see the cost of drugs affordable for people as some are down right outrageous and needed to live for some folks.

But i don’t think this is the thing to be doing right now when people are losing jobs daily and barely getting by. If we do all this and throw in say $4.00 or $5.oo a gallon for gas and you will see whats left of the economy come to a screeching halt. And the Democrats are trying to rush this monster of a bill through. I know from the bills they have passed lately that was rushed through without most of Congress even knowing what the bill even said. I feel they don’t want the people to know how much this will cost and how much your taxes will increase to pay for this thing or whats all in it.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of of Utah warned President Obama that health care reform under his administrations watch could be a nightmare he also said ” this reckless budget will swamp Americans in a morass of debt and mortgage the future of children and grandchildren”. And Hatch voted for the SCHIP to fund childrens health care. I don’t know why i feel im on the Uss Titanic? And we have already hit the iceberg and there are not enough life boats for us all and no where else to run.

Holy mother of Joseph, Biden Strikes Again!

Once again like a bad rash Vice President Joe Biden has popped up with his big mouth. I don't know about any of you but every time he spouts off i get a big kick out of it. I think he's doing a awesome job of stabbing his boss in the back. He doesn't realize how much he helps out the Republican party every time he opens his yap.
You would think Obama would have put a muzzle on him by now. He said they under estimated how bad the economy was. Im no college graduate but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. The stimulus is turning out to be a big fizzle thus far. We might as well took all them billions ands set fire to it. Obama claimed if they didn't rush the stimulus through the unemployment rate would peak at 8 %. Well it got put through anyway and now the unemployment rate has passed that and is 9.5% and growing.
Alot of the jobs created by the stimulus money will be in jeopardy soon like police officers and teachers, firemen and construction type jobs when completed for a few. The money to keep their jobs won't be there after the end of the year and we will see unemployment skyrocket. I would love to hear what Obama has to say every time Biden has opened his mouth and said the things he has about their administration i would bet they probably would not be nice words. I know one thing if i was president i sure would not be one bit happy with him.
Why is it that most of the time we can see clearly what is so apparent to us and its right under their nose and they can't. I really think politicans think we are completely stupid and totally blind. Sometimes i believe we are for electing these jokers in the first place on campaign promises that hardly ever come true. Then when they do come through with a promise we will end up paying for it for decades to come.
Like the state of Iowa for instance this wasn't a campaign promise but we will be paying back the money we borrowed for the next 30 years meanwhile most of the road construction jobs that it paid for will be long worn out many times over in that span. I got one thing to say keep tuned in for the next Biden blunder. He sure has been a entertaining VP so far. I will give him this one at least he hasn't shot no body yet.

Des Moines Register.com fails to report Climate bill vote

Last night I went to the Desmoines Register.com web site to see if they had reported anything on the Climate bill vote that congress passed by a vote of 219-212. And much to my surprise nothing on it. So I just went back again few minutes ago now its almost 12:30 pm in the afternoon and heres the top articles they have on their main website homepage. Story about the person who shot the Parkersburg coach, Hog prices are down,Postville leaders lets talk about a lawyer, Dog parks leap in popularity,Man stalks record fish for 3 days before getting it with a bow and arrow, man fatally shot at a dice game " Oh Crap" that's surely interesting news isn't it. Wouldn't you think they would want the public to know who don't get the Register's newspaper and read their news online to report the vote on this Climate bill that will become the biggest increase in taxes ever. Cap and trade will effect EVERYONE of us more than just our light and gas bills. It will cause food prices to go up as everything we buy uses energy to produce or package it. So that cost is gonna be passed on down to us the consumers. But here its in middle of the afternoon on the day after the vote and nothing on their main web page about the vote. Do they not want Iowan's not to know about this vote? I do not get the news paper as i'm out in the rural area it would come by mail man a day late. So I come online to find my news. And looks to me so far the DesMoines Register.com will not tell us the House passed the bill. It now goes on to the Senate and if passes there we all better brace ourselves for much higher food prices and anything we would buy that's not edible. As this will all have a bigger price tacked on thanks to this bill. I don't know how people who are barely getting by would get by this coming winter? Guess we will be sitting in our houses fully dressed with long johns couple pairs of socks and coat on wrapped in a blanket because they can't afford to go over and turn up the dial on the furnace. And their cubboards will be getting bare as the cost of canning food and packaging will increase. I was reading about the bill they want to decrease the greenhouse gases by 80% by middle of this century. Think about this what would be left going in this country to be producing only 20% of the gases we are now? Not much i can tell you. Would there be any semis on the highways? One person said on a radio program about this many months ago that we would be basically be going back and living in the dark ages if we reduced it that much. I don't know about any of you but i don't think i want to go back to living like pioneers in the 1800's or 1700's If any of you have kept up with Congress lately they passed another bill unread. If you remember the stimulus bill was passed without being read by most of Congress. For one it was passed so fast only a speed reader could have read it before the vote took place. Im sick and tired of these arrogant congressional leaders who are voting without ever reading the bills they voted on. That is flat out Wrong ! Nancy Pelosi said “We passed transformational legislation which takes us into the future,” Pelosi said at a press conference following the vote,

I fail to see how this will take us into the future. To me it looks more like a bill that will take us into the past. What industry we have left will not spend the money and many can't afford to make the changes so they will move the industry out of America to a country who simply doesn't care if there is pollution. Only thing i can see leading us into the future is cleaner ways to produce energy. We better get busy the middle of the century is about 40 years off and we haven't built any nuclear power plants since the 70's. Mainly all i see coming out of this bill is people like Al Gore and the thousands of other rich people who invested in this scam called carbon credits. Its like the bully standing on the street corner you have to pay him to let you pass. They will be come even richer and the poor will either starve or freeze to death.
Thanks again Desmoines Register.com for keeping me informed about some guy stalking a giant Carp thats way more important than the Climate bill that will effect EVERYONE of us in this country.

Is this the type of Health care we want ?

As President Obama puts on his one sided show on ABC last night with no other viewpoints at all allowed during this program. I want to express my personal experience with this universal health care as I had a nephew who moved to Canada back in the 1970’s. He ended up getting hepatitis C the nasty one. He was put on a waiting list for some time just to get treatment for the disease. After a year they decided to put in a stint in his liver as hepatitis attacks this organ. So he was put on a waiting list of 6 months or so to have the stint put in. The doctor wanted to check to see if it might have any clogging or blockage after a year. So he was put on another waiting list for this procedure to be done he waited for over 6 months again before the stint could be checked for any blockage it turned out fine.
But can you imagine waiting in fear that every day that passes it could becoming blocked and any moment you could die, it’s living on the edge every day it would drive a person insane. Since none of this was an emergency your put on a waiting list. They might discover that you have cancerous tumor but 6 months to a year or more might go by before you can get in to have the surgery to remove the tumor. By that time it might be to late to do any good. Is this the type of health care any of you want ??? There would be millions of people we know and love that would have had a speedy surgery here under our current health care system. They now would be put on waiting lists and if the appointed board decides that your age is to far along and the cost of saving your life isn’t cost effective then your doomed to die or go to another country and pay out of your own pocket to have the surgeries. As we have seen many Canadian folks coming to America to have surgeries they can’t get or would have to wait to long to have.
This is the type of health care we have coming and it’s gonna cost trillions. And millions of people will be doomed to die to cut costs. And who suddenly determined Obama knows all and has all the answers and this is the way to go??? I didn’t know a community organizer had all the answers.Universal health care has failed in every country that has tried it and yet we continue to keep pushing for it.This is doomed to fail.If this gets put through and we start seeing people dieing while waiting for care you can thank the one person who made it all possible Barack Obama. God bless every soul this will effect for years to come because sooner or later it will effect everyone. We will know of someone who will be told to wait and died while waiting or was told sorry it’s gonna cost to much to save you and your to old.And will the universal health care force people who already have good insurance to drop it and take it?
With my personal experience with my watching my nephew worry for better part of 3 years this is something I sure would not want to push on anyone. He lived in fear everyday for that time, that each day could been his last while he waited to be treated.I don’t want to be living in fear like that. And if a lot of you out there knew of or had a loved one live like this you sure wouldn’t want this health care plan.
You can read more of my posts on the Iowa Defense Alliance site under iowanforabetteriowa at www./iowadefense.wordpress.com/

Why wont Iowa legalize Fireworks?

On my way home from a road trip to Indiana as I came through Missouri. I noticed many Iowa cars and people making the annual trek to Missouri to buy fireworks. Most of the cars in the Sheltons fireworks parking lot was from Iowa. Its hard to estimate the amount of money that pours across the borders each year to purchase fireworks and thats not all they purchase when your out of state.
Food, gas, cigarettes, soda, beer and what ever you come across you would want to buy. As crazy as the Democrats and Governor Culver are to spend money. I have yet to figure out over the years why we don't legalize fireworks? Were not a state where we have to worry about causing forest fires with careless use of fireworks. Another knock against it is people will get hurt. Well people already are getting hurt from their use anyways and I don't foresee any large spike in injuries than we already have. And look at the money that the state would create and keep here in Iowa. Instead of going across the borders. For one there would the sale of fireworks permits to people interested in selling them that would go to the state of Iowa. Also sales tax permits will have to be issued yet another source of income to Iowa. And the actual sales taxes applied to sales of fireworks would come into the Iowa budget as well. Fireworks have been banned in Iowa for along time but the state does little enforce the ban to stop them. Most of the police or sheriff officers I know don't care as long as your not causing a disturbance or getting stupid in large crowds with them or waking people up in middle of the night with them. And every year thousands of Iowans go to North Dakota or Missouri to purchase fireworks. I'm 43 years old and grew up with firecrackers and bottle rockets around with some crazy friends and amazingly all of us still have all our fingers and toes and eyes. And we blew up alot of things. Its amazing our governor is so willing to expand gambling in Iowa but wont allow the sale of fireworks that would keep alot of money here in Iowa. To do projects for Iowans not help build roads and bridges in other states. Its time that this silly ban is lifted and time to keep Iowa money here in Iowa doing things for us.

New Blacktop has a pothole!

A couple weeks back I wrote about highway G-71 in Marion County, Iowa. It was getting a new black top surface and I said it wouldn’t last 30 years as the funding to do this project came from a borrowing plan our wonderful Iowa law makers and Governor Culver signed into law this past week. Yesterday as I was traveling on this new road I hit a pothole about a mile or so west of where I live. Yes I hit a pothole kind of hard to believe on a road barely 2 weeks old. The new blacktop doesn’t even have the white lines painted on yet. Governor Culver signed into law his plan called I-Jobs he said quote “We’re making an investment in our future. We’re going to modernize our state’s infrastructure, and most importantly, create jobs in doing so,” Culver said. We sure modernized the new highway. I said we should have patched the old surface as it has a lot of semi traffic on it and the road bed under it isn’t very good and the new blacktop wasn’t put on thick enough to last very long anyways. But you figured it should last longer than couple weeks before a new pothole is in it. We haven’t even begun to start paying this money back yet and we will be paying on it for next 30 years. I would rather have safe bridges as where I live I can’t go any direction to far without crossing a bridge. The potholes I can avoid.I know my cousin Courtney who is 14 isn’t to happy to know somewhere down the road she will be paying her state income tax money in to pay for this road for 26 years. This is investing in Iowa’s future? A project like this is merely short term it was done in less than 3 weeks. A project like this will not be a long term investment in Iowa as blacktop roads don’t last long. Thanks Governor Culver for wasting our kids future before they are even born

Holy Bat Blunder Barack!

How long will President Obama allow this loose cannon go before he does something? Once again our wonderful bumbling Vice President Joe Biden screws up. This time though it looks like he has released some top secret information. He reportedly told politicians at the Gridiron Club dinner of the location of the Vice Presidents secret bunker. I have never heard of such moronic actions let alone seen a top secret place like that revealed. If this is true this is really scary. I dont know how we could as we did. It started under President Bush and President Obama ran for office saying he would put a stop to this spending but only escalated the spending way more than Bush did in his first 3 months in office. Now President Obama comes to this brilliant conclusion quote “We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” President Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”
Mortgaging our childrens future dude its well beyond mortgaged its well spent and then some. These kid's children not even yet to be born 15-20 yrs down the road will be paying on this for most of their lifetime as well. They talked about the lost decade in Japan were gonna have a lost century.
The sudden genius went on to say “We have to change how we operate. These practices have only grown worse in the midst of this recession.” No kidding there Einstein! What a great deduction there Watson. Why you think I been going to tea partys and complaining how our money is being blown? Wait im just a redneck teabagger and im racist to speak out against your messed up policies and outrageous spending.I dont care what color the presidents skin is if its green, yellow, orange, red, purple with pink polka dots im gonna stand up and protest when your spending like a drunken sailor on steroids.Your making Bush spending look like chump change compared to your spending. You no good hypocrit. Its totally amazing I was saying this months ago before Obama was president we couldnt be spending like this. It takes this Einstein 5 months to come up with this bright conclusion. This is what we get when we elect a total idiot who has no idea what the heck he is doing.I feel he should have stuck to community organizer as nation organzing hes failing at pretty sadly. Theres your change. I started to see how some of the money Governor Culver and the Democrats borrowed going to work. The road to the small town of Bussey population 500. Which is approximately 5 miles long was stripped of the old asphalt surface. Maybe this was a needed repair but 5 miles worth? I would have been pleasantly pleased if they had repaired the bad spots and the pot holes and the dips. I sat here in my home and watched them rip up the old road thinking there is no way the new road surface when the new black top is done will be around 30 years from now when the money our leaders borrowed is to be finally paid off. I would bet ya it won’t last 5 years as it has alot of semi traffic coming off Highway 5 cutting through the area on the way down to Cargill at Eddyville Iowa. My friend came over I told him his son who is 9 would probably have to help pay this off for 21 years after he turns 18. Its sad to think there are babys not even born yet thats going to be saddled to paying off money to repair things that will be worn out long before they are born. And all our Democratic leaders could say was quote ” I hope no children have to pay for this”. If you look at it this way no children will pay for this now but any child born in Iowa for the next 12 years could very possibly pay on it. Im sure these kids will be over joyed once they get into their teenage years to discover that in a few years their tax money will be going towards paying off a debt they didn’t even create. And alot of the stuff done with the money is already worn out and needs repaired or replaced again. Im glad they are so thoughtful of the future of Iowa’s children. Spending it before they are even born.

Getting Prepared

I have been busy stocking up on canned goods lately. I have read alot of people are doing the same thing, and some store chains have had trouble keeping canned goods stocked. You look at gun and ammunition sales are way up. My dad grew up and went through the Great Depression of the 30s and he said you would have to defend your property, garden from people who are not prepared. When I was young I didnt believe him that this day might come but way things are looking Im thinking he might not been wrong.
I seen another blog on this subject and some of the comments were like the grasshopper and the ant making fun of people for stock piling food. Even if nothing comes of this your prepared for what ever comes along. Its a matter of time I feel before we get hammered with mega inflation as we have printed trillions of dollars and their value will go through the basement. I would rather much be prepared as being hungry and wishing I had. I stocked up on dried beans as many types of those as I can. I also bought every type of canned vegy the store carried. Some of these may be things we dont like to eat but if hard times come its better than having nothing to eat at all. Another thing that guns come in handy for not just protecting your self and bible as thats what we are clinging to if you ask our wonderful President Obama. In Iowa there is a abundance of deer and wild game to eat. Not to mention a person can go fishing and stock up a supply of some frozen fish for winter. If history has taught us anything it has a knack of repeating itself and back in the depression people was alot more prepared as many in the little towns and small cities had chickens and a old milk cow and big gardens alot of people dont have that anymore. My friends and me are planting a big garden and we plan on canning food from it. I know one thing it sure dont hurt to put back a few months supply worth of food.

Obama Flu Scare

I don't know about any of you but im not to concerned with this swine flu bug yet. I remember the first time I ever heard of Swine flu back in 1976 and had to get a shot or they wouldn't let me continue to go to school. Then as I recall I got the flu from the flu shot and missed 10 days of school so thanks Pres. Gerald Ford for that one. I know one thing since then ive thought I have had the flu now and then with these short 24 hours bugs was nothing. When I got it last year I was pretty sick for 2 weeks and took another 2 weeks to get all the crap coughed out of my chest. And the normal flu bug kills 250,000 to 500,000 world wide each year. So im thinking there has to be something up with this "Never waste a good crisis" that Rahm Emanuel said. I know when Pres.Clinton was up to no good something always came up to supply cover to keep the press and peoples attention focused on that and not look at what he was doing.
I think there could be a conspiracy here as well. This seems kind of strange that Pres. Obama goes to Mexico on a trip and about the incubation time of a flu bug after he left this flu strain starts popping up in Mexico ? Has anyone else put this time table together? Maybe thats stretching things but going on Joe Bidens own words "Mark my words it won't be 6 months til something comes along to test the metal of this guy" I hardly count the flu bug testing the metal. Maybe its a fear factor scratching of the metal see how much they can panic the people. I just love our media we dont need terrorists as long as we got them. Better rush out and buy duct tape and plastic and seal your house up rememeber that one? From right after the anthrax scare you couldn't find plastic and duct tape in alot of stores. They dont seem to concerned in Texas at the Major League baseball parks about this.
To me this would be a most excellent time to ram through a massive universal health care bill. The flu bug kept quiet Obama's massive $3.4 Trillion dollar budget. So much for going to Washington and changing how business is done. Just escalate it to a size beyond reasoning.

The Crazy World from the eyes of a teen

Im back once again been on a trip and was sick most of the time. Alot has happened since I wrote last. We had tea parties all over America and got called racist rednecks for speaking up how our tax money is being blown. My cousin Courtney sat down and wrote this the other night and im pretty impressed as shes 14 and sees through the Obama smoke screen and the global warming hoax. She finds it kind of hard to believe in when she has seen not only the coldest day in her life but the coldest day in the 43 years I been alive as well this past winter. Im sharing the poem she wrote im very proud of what she wrote!

The Crazy World by Courtney Lee Marie Carter 14 years old conservative

Life's hard and times are bad
Obama's crazy and Algore's mad.

Global warming? Is just a myth.
I think Al Gore just likes to bitch.

When Obama takes the world to hell
remember Hitler was voted in as well.

All your hard earned cash might as
well go in the trash, trillions and
trillions of tax dollars spent can
Obama explain where it all went?

Of all the congress of all the states
I wonder if even one's not insane.

They will raise the price for all your heat
hmm using a kerosine lamp wont that be heat?

So in 2012 think about who you vote in
I dont think we will want Obama again.

Sure hes brought change, but is it what you wanted?
Sooner or later Obama will be haunted.

Taxes taxes taxes all we hear anymore
I think Obama must be a tax whore.

A black president didnt think that would happen
Im not racist but how the hell this happen?

Scratch and claw is all we can do
But Barack Obama will still tax you.

All the Mexicans coming through our door
but Barack Obama wont stop them anymore
as matter of fact is welcoming in more.

With all the Mexicans put on welfare
it makes us pull out our hair.

But all the people who fell for the bullcrap
in my opinion need a great big slap!

By the way did I mention when Obama ruins us
dont be bitching.

I didnt vote for him dont think I ever
would this isnt my mistake so you better make it good.

Make the best of it now hes in if we aint
careful in 4 years he will be back again!

Obama now decides who can be CEO's?

Is this guy on a major league power trip or what? First he is telling exucutives how much they can earn now. And over the weekend he demanded the CEO of General Motors to resign. I dont understand that because of who replaced him was another person in the chain of command in GM like throwing out a bad apple and replacing it with another bad apple. And today I see were now backing the warrentees of new cars and trucks now.
http://www.mpgomatic.com/2007/10/09/1982-a-banner-year-for-high-mpg-cars/

Dam this makes me totally freaking fume!! First im helping pay for someones dam mortgage who bit off more house than they could afford in the first place. And now im gonna help pay for warrentee work on new cars and trucks while I drive a older car with 160,000 on it.
Just what the hell do you plan on us paying for next Mr Ego trip Obama? This is the change I sure the hell didnt want.Is this the CHANGE you wanted people? Ive never seen a president do the radical things that he has done in the first 3 months in office has any of you out there ? I dont think so cause it hasnt happened at this rate in my lifetime.
Now far as automobiles go when I did some research why did we have more vehicles that WASN'T Electric or a Hybrid back in early 80s that got better mileage than we do now! Yes look here
http://www.mpgomatic.com/2007/10/09/1982-a-banner-year-for-high-mpg-cars/

Look for yourself there is 14 cars that got over 50 mpg highway then. This is amazing this was 27 years ago hard to believe 27 years ago and we did that. What happened ? All I do know is once the radicals get done with this country we will be sitting in the dark as there isnt enough windmills gonna create enough electricity to light every house.Specially when the best area where not many people live in the desert southwest to put them a great genius Diane Feinstein.
NINETEEN companies have submitted applications to build solar or wind facilities on a parcel of 500,000 desert acres, but Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Friday such development would violate the spirit of what conservationists had intended when they donated much of the land to the public. This goes back to the kind of people who is all for wind power BUT not in my back yard well this part of the country is pretty windy most of the time unlike here in midwest where its windy now and then. And its almost always sunny there and here ive seen week to 10 days of straight clouds that sure wouldnt work well with putting up solar mirrors to create electricity.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5h7aY31elSSpEWsXL0RHmqIowB3rgD972CNG00

We will all either be riding bicycles, or horses. I know GM why dont you start producing a enclosed horse buggy that has a solar powered heater and head lights and tail lights cause I got a feeling were gonna be needing them as some jackass thinks that all the worlds prosperity has caused this so called global warming and thinks we need to all be super poor like the dark ages.I dont know about any of you from reading history the dark ages wasnt all that fun the black plague wiped out millions.
Remember you voted for change and by God your definitely getting it !

What next now were the cause of Mexico's problems?

I am sick and tired of being accused of the worlds frigging problems. http://www.iht.com/articles/reuters/2009/03/25/america/OUKWD-UK-USA-MEXICO.php
I havent caused any one to get aids in Africa,I havent bought any illegal drugs nor told any drug lords to wage war. I didnt bomb the hell out of Gaza but guess who is helping pay for Obama Muslim buddies we are ! Yes were giving Hamas and Gaza almost a billion dollars. Im not sure just how the hell we can afford to give cash out to anyone when were so broke its matter of time we wont be able to pay attention. Im the cause of global warming Ha ! Im sure what little energy I use is very small compared to Al Gores utility bill each month or the Clintons. I just got my light bill today and it was $42.00 I found out this about Gores utility bill. According to the TCRP analysis, the Gores consumed 10% MORE! energy in the year since their home received its eco-friendly modifications. TCPR also argued that, while the "average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year," the Gore residence "uses an average of 17,768 kWh per month –1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations. Thats 39 times more electric than I use a month thats 468 times more electric than I use a year and my home isnt green its a 80 yr old drafty farm house in Iowa.
So I hear today Hilldabeast Clinton promises to aid Mexico. Just how long before those weapons were supplying will be in the hands of the bad guys and used back on us ? 80 million dollars for Black Hawk helicopters. I would rather much see our troops back home keeping our Homeland safe from invasion from the Mexicans who have been swarming into this great country and soon will have brought it down to the same levels of Mexico itself. Does anyone now see why this is important to stop illegals from entering from Mexico ? It wont be long we wont even reconize this country things will change and change for the worse. Crime and violence will increase like crazy its just a matter of time. I sometimes wish I was much much older and about ready to leave this world behind as each day goes by I see our great country slipping down the drain. Ok blame me for the world being round dammit ! Blame me for the freaking sky being blue I know not everyone likes the color it is so lets spend trillions and make it some other color ! Im so sick of this crap its not funny im tired of some idiot claiming were warming up yet we havent broken temp records here in the USA. Its a big power grab for money and control. I know one thing if im gonna die im gonna die fighting for this country I love !

Why did Obama compare a Model T to a Suv?

Did anyone catch his speech yesterday at a California electric car plant. He compared the gas mileage of a 1908 Model T Ford to a modern suv. For one they weigh about 3600 lbs apart one is a truck one is a car. It would be like comparing a moped to a full dressed 1200 Harley Davidson in gas mileage the little moped will be better it has alot less weight to pull. The more President Obama speaks the more you realize how ignorant he really is.

I found a list of 51 cars in 2008 that get better than 30 mpg. Audi A4, Audi A4, Cabriolet Audi TT Coupe, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Aveo 5, Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet HHR, Chevrolet HHR Panel, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger, Ford Escape Hybrid FWD,
Ford Focus, Honda Accord 2DR Coupe, Honda Accord 4DR Sedan, Honda Civic, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Kia Rio, Kia Spectra, Mazda Mazda3, Mazda Tribute Hybrid 2WD, Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec, Mercury Mariner Hybrid FWD, Mini Cooper Convertible, Nissan Altima, Nissan Altima Coupe, Nissan Altima Hybridm Nissan Sentra, Nissan Versa, Pontiac G5, Pontiac G6, Pontiac Vibe, Saturn Aura, Saturn Aura Hybrid, Suzuki SX4, Suzuki SX4 Sedan,
Toyota Camry, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Toyota Solara, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix,
Toyota Prius, Toyota Scion XD, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen EOS

You go back to the early 80s 1982 there was 104 cars and few small pickups that got over 30 and 40 mpg. We are building lighter cars and trucks then even by 1982 standards and yet the mileage is dropping is it all the EPA standards driving down gas mileage? Im shocked to see the list from 1982.There was 14 cars that had over 50 mpg on highway. I would want cheap cars that got mileage like that again my god makes me want to hunt some junk yards and find some of these to repair and drive again. http://www.mpgomatic.com/2007/10/09/1982-a-banner-year-for-high-mpg-cars/

Is Anyone else a bit overwhelmed, upset, pissed off?

I wake up each morning and turn on the news to see what the heck is happening next. Its like were in a weirdly written soap opera. Its getting to be overload I dont think I could dream up anything this out of whack. First we got to bail out these banks NOW ! So the morons rushed into it sent them billions with no strings attached. Now they are outraged that the employees are getting paid. I hear on news the people are outraged that they got their bonus's. NO Im outraged at CONGRESS and Former President Bush and President Obama, Yes I said Obama to why he voted for this Tarp bailout as he was a Senator then and now is trying to get the heat off his own office by throwing out the spin. Specially when you hear that Tax Cheat Tim Geithner had a part in the drafting of the bank bail out.
Just how does Mr. I cant figure out Turbo Tax Geithner have all the answers to our economy trouble when he cant do something so simple as that in the first place and pay his OWN taxes. Its much easier to spend someone elses taxes while not paying your own thats the Democratic party for you. And every time I see Barney Frank Elmer Fudd with a mouth full of marbles speak I just fume. Heres this arrogant No good son of a biscuit eater who had the nerve to tell us just a few years ago there was nothing wrong with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack meanwhile they was losing billions.Chris Dodd Barney Frank and several others ought to be fired with no pension themselves! They are supposed to be there to represent us the people instead of their own agendas.
I know one thing if anyone isnt outraged who can vote, If you dont vote in the next congressional election in 2 years then your not a American who cares about this country your just gonna sit back and let the greatest country on the planet turn into a 3rd world country. I dont know what the hell your expecting to happen but if you look at these countries its not a pretty sight at ways of living and is along way from what we are used to. Get out and Vote in the next election let them hear your outrage and voice tell them I want my country ! Vote out every incumbent im sick and tired of the whole mess. I want term limits and no huge pensions for serving a mere 4 yrs. Wouldnt any of you out there love to work just 2 or 6 years for a employer and leave and still get the amount of money you earned there each year for the rest of your life? Anyone see anything wrong with that ? If anyone thinks this country isnt worth fighting for? If not I suggest you start thinking up a new communist flag for our country.

Did Obama pull the wool over our eyes ?

Im wondering if Obama pulled a fast one on us. Few weeks ago he came out and said that he had to have the Stimulus bill on his desk to sign or the economy might not recover from this huge mess. So it gets passed and signed and basically I believe it funded his re-election for the 2012. You look at all the things the money went to Acorn who was a huge contributor to his campaign fund. And now yesterday he came out and said we dont believe the economy is as bad off as we first thought. Why do I feel like I just got took by the Wizard of Oz and now we see the curtain pulled back and Obama pulling levers and talking into loud speaker im the great and powerful Obama pay no attention to the man in the suit. I wonder if anyone else feels we got took it was so desperate few weeks ago and now its suddenly all well ? what the hell how can it go from might not recover to its not as bad as we thought in matter of weeks. I dont care how bad the situation is I want someone who is strong and will tell us not to despair we have recovered from more severe problems and this is bump in the road and give me some friggin hope. Cause I sure dont like the change im seeing. I know one thing these idiots who voted him in sure hasnt looked at Europe and see all the crap thats ever happened to them they havent had much peace look at last 100 years 2 world wars with Germany in middle of it both times. Thats the things to come here just give Obama 4-8 yrs and you will see the change and I highly doubt you will reconize what our country will be,it will be far different than what we have been used to. Oh well I can go about proudly and say I didnt vote for this socialist dictator. But bad part is us and the obamaites will all be in the same boat screwed and probably tattooed aka jews from WW2.

Why don't i feel safe?

Why don't I feel safe right now ? I see North Korea threaten anyone who messes with their satelite launch. Im wondering what happens say something goes wrong as it occasionally does on a launch and it fails badly as ive seen some rocket launchs do. Do the North Koreans go bonkers and attack ? Wheres my frigging President Obama least standing up with some strong language ! All I see out of this guy is warming up to the enemy welcoming Cuba who has been a big threat to our security for 50 yrs. I don't want a wimp president who is willing to lay down for the rest of the scum of the world to just walk in and take over. Everyday goes by seems like hes being softer and softer and trying to kiss up to these countrys what he hell is up with that? Makes me wonder did we elect a flat out communist ? He has shunned our allies and warmed up to our enemies something is up with that if you ask my opinion. Im beginning to be a believer as every day goes by and something new comes out of Ocommie Obommie.I dont feel safe at all anymore nor do I feel very good about our future I can put 10 and 20 trillion together add 12 trillion and carry 5 trillion more and know we haven't got that kind of money. I think its sad of all the people about ready to retire wont be getting what they paid in for sure its gone and a big I Owe you is in the Social Security fund. I do nothing but worry about whats gonna happen as all I can envision isnt good. God Help us! Why would God want to help us? Why do I feel he is like a prostitute who has seen the light of church and becomes the biggest speaker against prostitution as now hes out to get every tax cheat.I know how to raise probably several million in back taxes why not audit the all of the Democrats in Washington!
So far ive seen nothing but tax problems out of alot of Obama's picks. I dont know about anyone else but do you feel real confident with the bunch we have running the country now? I for one sure the hell dont feel confident at all. They cant run their own affairs but can run something as big as our govt? Come on give me a break these morons couldnt run a lemonade stand correctly. For one I know you wouldn't get fair change back out of a dollar for .50 cents of lemonade. I got to keep remembering WE WON You Lost NO in the end were all gonna lose here folks when this all goes south there is NO ONE LEFT to bail out the world full of debt. Now throw in the cost of printing a quarter million checks and postage these checks cost more than they was worth. Im sure the people who got them are living high on the hog with that 1 dollar. Maybe if they are lucky they will have a store near them they can purchase couple packs of hotdogs for the dollar. I figured the cost of sending them at .42 cents each cost the state $105,000 dollars throw in the cost of printing 250,000 of these dumb plain dumb. Were in hard enough times as it is. I just dont see this a worthy cost effective way of doing business. There plan is by sending out this they are expecting to get more money to go towards the foodstamp program there. It dont make sense to me to waste the amount of money it took to make and send out those checks. Thats why im not a politician they got ways to of making sense out of stupidity that seems to boggle my mind. Im sick of all politicians I know I sure dont have all the answers to the troubles we have but to waste money just to send out a dollar check is a waste of money. Seems like we got money to burn these days so burn baby burn.

Attorney Generals calls Us cowards

Did anyone hear the attorney general Eric Holders comments? http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/02/18/holder.race.relations/index.html Eric Holders said quote: "we are voluntarily socially segregated" Just what does that mean? Im supposed to join the black panther party to get along? Should I join the NAACP? What other origanizations could I join to meet more socially?
Maybe I seem to be getting a bad picture of blacks when I see people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan constantly stiring the race relations between us. Am I to think they are to be nice to me when I hear that come from them? I guess I am segregated in my part of Iowa there isnt very many people of color that lives within 40 miles of me. The high school I went to we had 4 that went to school with me. Is this my fault I choose to live here in this part of Iowa that doesnt have many people of color?
Well for one im sorry to say I dont think I want to move to the big cities where crime and shootings are much increased due to larger black and hispanic populations and white crime though most of the severe crimes seems to be done by hispanics or blacks. Holder goes on to say "in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards"
Hmm yeah I am a coward I guess when im around alot of blacks I have fear that any moment one might pull out a gun and start capping people. Why should i feel this way I guess from watching shows like Cops where you see these crimes being committed and people arrested on the spot. I felt this the last time I was in South Ridge Mall as what looked like gang bangers groups of black kids were busy staring down a group of latino's and I was in the middle between them sitting on a bench and felt very nervous. What should I done went over introduce myself these kids could care less who the hell I was at that moment? I felt much better when I got out of there. And I would think this is how alot of people would feel put in that same situation. Why because we see it on the news all the time kids with guns shooting someone at the Mall or gang land murders.
Im sorry for feeling this way but its the product we created with television and news. They seem to want to report stuff that would stir up the relations between whites and blacks. It dont help when a white mother Susan Smith kills her kids in a lake and says a black man car jacked her. I didnt buy her story the moment I heard that and I got ridiculed over saying that she did it.I felt when I seen her she wasnt what I would say frantically enough about the story she lacked the emotions. And I got to tell them people I told you so when they charged her with drowning them.
I sure dont see any of them coming to be friends with me either. Guess it works both ways on being cowardice. My father taught me not to judge a person by their skin color the ones I went to school with and know are great people its the few bad apples that has ruined the rest of the box that makes me leary of the rest of the apples. I try to go about my day minding my own business and dont want any troubles. I dont go looking for trouble either.Unless things change on television and news people like Jesse Jackson continue to keep things stirred up between us he seems to have made a good living doing this for last 40 years or so. I dont know what to think anymore its like I woke up in a nightmare and the America is now turned upside down all kinds of nutty stuff going on and no one seems to be offended by. Like gays doing repulsive things in the streets of San Fran Sicko Holsom street festival nothing holsom about that its down right sick and Nancy Pelosi thinks its ok for them to express themselves in that manner. All I can say Is God Help us oh wait a minute someone already took God out of our lives long ago. Help us anyways you supreme being there im not calling it a god as not to offend anyone. Good luck all.

President sends more troops to Afghanistan Im outraged!

Im outraged at this! If you people who voted for him could stand there and demand Bush bring home our troops from Iraq before Obomber got elected you should be demanding this now! Where are all the Obomber supporters now? I thought we was terrorizing the people over there? Blowing up villiages and killing innocent people according the annoited one. So now we can do more of that in Afghanistan and its all ok wow amazing how that works condemn one man for his war and escalate more troops into it yourself and its ok now. Why arent they yelling and cheering like they was last fall when he said he would get all the troops out of Iraq? You should be outraged!
How can you support this idiot? Yes I called him a idiot and no I did not stutter! Looks like hes more clueless than Seattle. He comes out and decries Bush's war and will bring the troops home immediately when elected. I guess he did say he would get them out of Iraq. So we send them into Afghanistan, that makes sense costs more to bring them all way back home send them into neighboring countries thats close by seems more logical. This is only the first month this guy is in office and we see what we have got already. Do we want more of the same? Almost everything he ran on he HAS failed to come through to you sheeple. Here is list of promises and things he wasnt gonna allow to happen in his administration check them out and fill in what he has and hasnt done. http://change.gov/agenda/ethics_agenda/
I thought that was his main idea for running he was tired of seeing the same old same in Washington, well as the rock group Who said in one of their songs "Meet the new boss same as the old boss:". who got fooled again? I didnt get fooled as I sure didnt vote for this joker.Hes a joker in my book he has been some good intertainment so far this winter.I just turn the news on or surf the internet and be amazed and amused by this guy and down right scared of some the things hes wanting. How much do you plan to tax Americans to get Univeral health care? Stay tuned to see what outrages you next from this poor excuse least in my opinion of first month of your president. So much for change.

Unhappy Iowan no im Pissed

Im not a very unhappy Iowan im a pissed off Iowan! They want to raise taxs on us. Raising the liscense fees wasnt good enough now they want to jack up the gas tax some more. If you showed me some responsibility in spending maybe I wouldnt feel so upset. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090217/NEWS10/902170404
How about some cuts to Culvers salary im sure he would make up for it from some lobby money donated to his campaign coffer. What does a person who lives off the state need much money for anyways? He lives in Terrace Hill we pay the bills for it. I would imagine we buy his groceries as well. Transportation is supplied as Governor. I could do the job on less than 10,000 bucks that would save the state of Iowa 132,000 grand right there alone.Heck throw in some lobby money and I would do it for free.
Why dont you greedy tax mongers tax the dam lottery tickets its actually something I dont need to live on its my choice to buy them or not. Now gasoline on the other hand I dont have no choice as living in rural Iowa anyone knows you got to drive a ways to get to a town and back. And living on a fixed budget is also a pain when you see any type of increase like this.
Why? Because it will increase the cost of food so not only takes more money to get to town will take more money to buy groceries.Steve Rielly said quote "Nobody's actually come to me and said, 'You're putting me in a bad position." I suggest that Mr. Rielly get out and talk to the people in his district if he believes that load of horse manure. Oh I forgot its probably a rich democrat only district wouldnt have any poor people in it I imagine. Go talk to Iowans alot who drive alot everyday to get to work. They dont want to see higher gas prices the more money they have to spend for gas is the lesser they can spend on food and the less amount of money to spend on things that stimulate the economy, like buying tv's dvd players computers, food, cloths.
The state lawmakers are supposed to be public servants and work for us the people of Iowa. Seems like were the servants for King Culver and cohorts and if we dont cough up the money they will tax it out of us. One reason there is a shortfall in road fund money in first place was because the gas was so high last year so the bright idea seems to be lets push it back up to last years levels again. Nickel here dime there I hear the federal government wants a .50 cent increase in gas tax some time this year also that right there would put gas up near $2.30-2.40 at current price of $1.81.
Its time for some reponsibility from our elected officials we intrusted you to do whats right for Iowa when spending our taxs and all I see is irresponsibility and over budgeting by our state officials. Im sick and tired of this, to think we came to this the new world because taxs was to high and revolted when the king raised the tax on tea. Im ready to have a Iowa tea party ! Lets start fresh vote them all out!

Electoral college bypass bad idea

Why do I feel this is a power grab or plan to kill off political interest that comes to Iowa? http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090211/NEWS/90211024/-1/archive

If we would join in a pact with other states on giving our electoral college votes to the candidate who wins the popular vote. Why would the candidates even want to come to Iowa like they do now for the caucus and campaign season? They would be here alot less than they are now. As all they would have to do is get the popular vote by hitting the largest cities in the USA and if we set ours to go to the person with most votes it wouldnt matter who wins Iowa, basically making our vote worthless in the state. I would be upset if the state votes went for a republican candidate and the electoral college vote went to the other person cause he won by 400,000 votes. Its amazing that I see Mike Gronstal's name mentioned in the article.I know its not good when you see his name floating around a bill.

I dont know about alot of people its kind of neat to see all the candidates come to Iowa and campaign it brought alot of money into the states economy at the end of 2007.I got to shake the hand of alot of the candidates.Something I wouldnt get to do if our leaders decide to join this pact.

I would sure think if this plan gets pushed through we would basically kill the caucus why would they want to spend tons of money on a state that has 3 million people when you can be hitting largest cities with more population. They would be hitting the largest cities to get the bang for the buck as they would have Iowa in the bag no matter how we voted if we change the law all they would need to do is carry enough of the largest cities to build up popular vote and Iowa's electoral votes would automatically go to the winner. So please morons leave stuff alone it wasnt broken the way it was. The forefathers of our country wasnt ole country boys and hicks they was pretty smart for their time.

Doom or Gloom or predictions comeing true?

I don't know where this stimulus bill is leading us to but I got a feeling its not gonna be a place we want to go, nor will it be a place where alot of has never been. Both my parents went through the Great Depression of the 1930's. Before my dad passed on he kept telling me to be prepared that some day down the road it probably would it happen again and would be in my lifetime.I always thought man dad im beginning to wonder if your smoking something. But knowing the stories he told of the depression of the 30's I knew he knew what he was talking about.

Now here it is a mere 20 years since he passed on and were at the door step of something that could be bad. I sure hope not as back in the 30's we were better prepared as a country. For one there was half as many people as there is now and alot of families had big gardens and they canned vegetables. They had chickens and some pigs some had a old milk cow, they had food they could provide for themselves.

I look at the landscape of things now days and I cant see how the heck we would survive as you take away a cell phone from some people and they would be totally lost and not able to function without text messaging or calling someone every other minute. I could probably fit into this category as I would be lost without my computer or internet as I have been online now for 11 years come March man time flys. Throw in the factor theres alot of people out there that don't know how to can vegetables. I honestly can say I wish I had paid closer attention to my parents when they canned but its not to hard i've canned potatoes and tomatoes. Just getting the right amount of salt in your jar is the main thing to keep it from spoiling and the cooking time in the canner making sure your jar seals.

I can't imagine how we spent almost 15 trillion dollars in debt. And congress has blown the bulk of this and we want government to run health care and other projects? It would take over 2000 years to spend a trillion dollars at a million dollars a day and weve blown through 15 times that! That equals about 30,000 years of spending at that rate done in little over 20 years! Can anyone fathom that? And there doesn't seem to be a end to it. Now if we spent 30,000 years of money and paid it back at rate of 2 million a day twice of what we spent it would still take almost 15,000 years to pay back and thats not counting any interest. It doesn't take a financial genius to figure this out that were in deep trouble.

Thats unreal to think about 30,000 years of money blown in 20+ years thanks congress and our last 4 presidents for doing what 39 presidents and 200 years before hadn't done by blowing this much money. If you dont think so do your own math at spending of million dollars a day 365 million a year,it would take 2 years and 270 days to get to a billion. It would take 20 years to get to 10 billion so 200 years to get to 100 billion and then you still got 900 billion more to go to get to 1 trillion.

I often would listen to my dad and his close friend who just passed on last week talk about stuff that was gonna happen and think they was bit on the nutty side and funny how things are coming into shape like a Nostradamus prediction scary when I think about it.I won't go into detail the things he told me but they are on my mind every day here lately. I guess its the wisdom of someone who went through the depression. I sometimes wish my dad had not told me of these things to come but I figure he was telling me that it was coming and to be prepared.Or is it the old adage of history repeating itself? I don't know but its gonna be a scary ride ahead.

Stimulus or Stimulating?

I just cant get over the things that I hear thats in the stimulus bill. STD prevention and education good lord I know how to 100% reduce that, DON'T FOOL AROUND with anyone. That is pretty much a no brainer I think but since were dumbing down America im sure there is some dimwit teenagers who hasnt figured out what causes that and pregnancy. They might as well fool around cause their future is pretty well screwed and their childrens and grand childrens. It wont be long til we see European tax rates here to pay for the massive debt. What happened to Obama's campaign promises that we need to cut spending and reduce the deficit? He compained about Bush's war cost and in first month in office Obama will be spending more than the Iraq war. Got to reward all his rich buddies for the campaign money to get the chosen one elected. But im not suppose to question the messiah. But if I go to a rally and ask for a new house or car or say even satelite tv will I get it?

I sure can use a new TV and or satelite dish as the HDTV converter box the government is helping pay for im not one bit impressed with at all. I can watch some channels one evening go to bed and cant watch the same channel the next morning. Snow, rain, fog, clouds I have noticed effect the reception. So for most rural folks who are long ways from the broadcast towers I think this will be waste of time and money for.And way the channels come and go I believe is a ploy by the stations or government and lobbists to get more people to go to pay television either by getting cable or satelite dishs.

In closing I suppose I should now go to the local clinic and get some education in STD prevention to stimulate the economy ha ha!! Thats almost to funny to think about except we will be paying for this for decades.I hope people will learn one thing from this all, next time you better find out just what the CHANGE is before you dive in and elect it president. Its like finding out how deep the water is before you dive in a pond or stream. To late now for that I dont like what ive seen in the first 3 weeks already its gonna be a long 4 years. Where do I get in line for a house in a warmer climate? Oh I forgot were in global warming except global warming has forgot one thing to be warm all over the globe not just in few areas.

Wheres the tranparency show the American people whats in this stimulus bill. No need to worry Democrats you keep telling me you WON show us and pass it already. So we can get on to STD classes !

Obama throws VP Biden under the bus

Did anyone see the press conference last night? Man is anyone ever gonna get to ask Pres. Obama a tough question? It was a pathetic excuse for reporting. And very boring for a hour long I was almost asleep from it. He has given better speechs before he got elected. A reporter asked President Obama about Joe Bidens comments about a 30% chance this still could fail to work and it seemed President Obama came very close to conceding to the fact his vice president is a joke, vice president who? This is very commical but the scary thing to remember folks is VP Joe Biden is one heart beat away from being President.

I read a response a bit ago I liked so I had to repost it I got a kick out of this
quote: "Well, the change (so far) is a Cabinet of Clinton re-treads (some of whom dropped out because of their fraudulent tax practices)and of couse some, like Espy were not appointed because of criminal activity. The Hope is something will actually change and that does not seem possible with the same old hacks....the"Crew"....plus some nasty types added from the sewer of Chicago politics....However we do have the gaffe prone hair-implant, plagarist "all about me" numbskull Biden...ever so different than Cheney ---maybe Obama should get Biden a pacemaker??? A new brain.....a passport to Venezuela or Iran for the duration.

How about a one way ticket to Oz.I know lets send him to Iraq again and release his itinerary to them and his escort route. That sure was a bright one he pulled few weeks ago lucky they wasnt waiting for him then. One thing is we sure got commical relief maybe VP Biden is the jester for the king? Sure seems that way so far and were only 3weeks in!

And this was supposed to be a totally different type of administration according to the messiah according to his campaign promises and yet here we are with more of the same.I wasnt a Obama voter but if I was I think I would feel I have been lied to and used. I know he hasnt been in office very long but his first promises are already broken with his cabinet alone. No change there. The changes I see being ushered in is very scary im not ready for socialism but it sure seems like were getting a big dose of it. And he wants to attack talk radio for "How dare they talk about him this way," so lets shut them down does that sound Hitler like or Stalin like to you ? It sure does me. Way I see it is there are so many channels on the radio dial if you dont like what you hear you have Freedom of choice and change the channel or turn it off but please dont take away my right to listen to it! Hold on tight folks the roller coaster ride is about to begin !

Ragbrai training ?

I am no fan of Ragbrai I have redubbed it Registers Annual Great Beer Ride Across Iowa as from my personal views of seeing it come through my community 2 times in 3 yeas. When they left out town it was completely out of booze. It brings alot of money to every community but if we can be arrested for driving drunk theres got to be lot of these bicycle riders who are pretty bombed by time they get to the final town of the day for the big party. Not to mention public intoxication by the thousands in the evening. But for a week in July this is ok and pretty much ignored. But if any other time someone staggers out of a bar he's busted for public intox. It takes training to pour back loads of beer and act like a ass? Or a complete idiot just add beer.
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090209/NEWS04/90206018&s=d&page=2#pluckcomments

Ive seen some of these partiers dont even ride all the way they ride last 3-5 miles into town get bombed to til daylight and crash get up in middle afternoon load up on their support vehicles haul them to last few miles before next town and do it all over again. There is so many drunks now on this bicycle ride it totally disgusts me anymore I cringe every year when they release their route hoping it doesn't come through my area.

I thought that bicycles are supposed to abide by the same laws on the road as we do but if you ever have to go down a highway that Ragbrai happens to be on forget it they cover both sides of the road and simply dont care if they block traffic they are IMPORTANT and late to get to next town to get drunk. If I drive down the highway and cross the center line and hit a semi head on its my fault and im gonna die.I think these people need to leard to stay on THEIR side of the road to.

Beyond bringing in lots of money into communities they leave tons of garbage and beer bottles and cans and cups. When Ragbrai came through my area back in 1984 the riders enjoyed the scenery and seemed more down to earthy and I saw less of the partying.People now I dont see that as much on last 2 time they came through very few stopped to talk its on to last stop to PARTY!

And with the roads now decaying and crumbling I sure dont want over 8,000 -10,000+ riders and drunks risking getting killed hitting a pothole and needing more people to sue the state. Some of these roads are bad enough for a sober person in cars. For something that started out as nice way to meet country folks sure has turned into the biggest Beer ride in the World. I wonder if we did away with the booze in all the night stops in each town how many less riders the ride soon would have?

The last time they came through my town the drank the bar we had dry some women from the ride got on the pool table and stripped all their cloths off and danced.Ive seen some offer to have sex with every guy in the place. This is the reasons I could care less about it ever coming back through my community.

Boo Hooo Ramona Cunningham

Now that the CIETC scandal is over Ramona Cunningham says she is $200,000 in debt.http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090206/NEWS/90206029&theme=JOB_TRAINING_EXECUTIVES

Well to darn bad they believe you and your cohorts robbed the state of Iowa of millions. Last night Pres. Obama signed a SCHIP program bill for low income health care for children. Now im all for having affordable insurance for your children if you are low income and can't afford it. Now people who are in low and middle income now will be able to get SCHIP to, But will be taxed in order to pay for SCHIP for families making up to $100,000 now. Why should someone making $25,000 now be taxed to pay for someone making alot more than they are? And President Obama said " way he sees it this is only the beginning" to what national health care hes been wanting?.
I dont think the middle class and low income class should be taxed to subsidize someone making $100,000 I can understand the fact if they lost their jobs unemployment ran out and you have nothing. But for folks still working and making up to 100 grand should be able to afford thier health care.
I sure wish there was some new world to go to as I think its about time to pack my bags and get the heck out of here. I feel like im on the Titanic we now have a new Capt. Smith hes arrogant HE WON after all and hes ignoring the ice berg warnings and going full speed ahead and im a 3rd class passenger and I know the ice berg is coming and i know there isnt enough life boats and im going down with the ship. Please fight this Stimulus crap bill we dont need frisby golf courses and ATV trails made with this money. I would rather have roads and bridges thats safe.

Nancy Pelosi claims we are losing more jobs than there are Americans in this country each month!

She is very entertaining to me at times. Ms. Pelosi claims Americans are losing 500 million jobs a month at this rate Ms. Pelosi we would loose every job known to a American in one month as there is just over 300 million of us here all together. This makes me feel so wonderfully safe with morons and idiots in charge i wonder if she was counting the populations of all 57 state Obama visited? This is the best congress has to offer good lord were in deep trouble im ashamed that morons keep voting in hacks like her that who are as bright as a burnt out light bulb. Wake Up America and do something about morons like this and vote them out as soon as possible ! Incompetencey by Obama making poor choices thinking he could get them approved with all democratic control well it back fired on him and now you just got to sit back and laugh at harry reid and nancy. A old hillbilly has more common sense than they all have Unbelieveable and this person got to a powerful position by being a idiot or moron scary to think to many nut cases like her are putting all us in the poor house. Chet Culver is pressing the Statehouse Democrats to push through his 700 million dollar bondissue. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090203/NEWS/90203014
Im so glad that I seen trails will be on the list of things to build.I think they are nice but right now thats something that needs to be put on hold. I have never used a trail nor plan on it. One thing I do use on daily basis is our highways and bridges and they are in pretty bad shape loads of pot holes and are real rough. Are the bridges safe we go over? Guess we are taking our chances when we go over one.

I want Gov. Culver to go over a bridge thats near me that goes over the Des Moines River over by Oskaloosa Iowa Eveland access. Have his limo driver go the speed limit and make sure Gov Culver has a full hot cup of coffee in his hands! It is full of pot holes from one end to the other its one huge speed bump on both sides of the road. It has a sign on it that says it will be due to be repaired starting this fall but with budget cuts I can see it being put off now with a new sign hanging on it saying, Sorry It can't be fixed at this time Uncle Chet! At Least close the thing before something bad happens to someone. Anyone on a motorcycle that flys up on it to fast and doesn't know the area will be in for a big surprise later this spring. I sure wouldn't want to drive over it on a motorcycle. Least not very fast if i had to.

I also see in his proposal is for mass transit as I live in rural Iowa im sure this isn't going to be of any use to me. Other than in Des Moines and other big cities mass transit just isnt gonna help alot of rural folks out. That was one thing i kept hearing last summer was that I should conserve and use alternate means of transportation out here in boonies of southern there are no alternate means provided.

In rural Iowa there isn't many choices other that of a car or I have 2 feet and a thumb and maybe a horse if i had one but that would take all day to go to Wal-Mart and back and they dont have a hitching post out front. Or the last thing i can think of is a motorcycle. Can only ride it limited amount of time a year. Im also no Lance Armstrong and into riding bicycles 100's of miles my knees and hips hurt to much for bicycle riding. There is no mass transit buses or rail system that I could ride to town to do my shopping either. If there was a speedy alternate means I would take it.

As far as road construction goes im not totally convinced that this would help Iowans out who are out of work. Most of the road construction crews I seen last summer was from out of state companies and from the looks as I drove by seemed to have employed alot of hispanic laborers. I don't care as long as it gets done but I want to see as many out of work Iowans hired to these jobs that would be created first.

To me when we want this package to help out Iowans that need jobs this isn't going to do it. All I can see coming from this is money to be spent with very little ideas of how many Iowans it could put to work. Borrowing on our future in shaky times doesn't seem to me like the right thing to do. But its full speed ahead for Uncle Chet and dam the future of Iowa.

Iowa Drivers Licenses by mail is safer ?

The state of Iowa wants to try to protect our identity better so they come up with the bright idea of mailing our new drivers license cards to us by mail? Come on you got to be kidding me! There is so many thieves out there who just love to steal peoples mail in hopes of getting a credit card or any other piece of information with our names on. Quote:"It's a mechanism we're using to help ensure our process does not lend itself to identity theft," said Shirley Andre, director of the Iowa Department of Motor Vehicles. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090202/NEWS10/902020323
I don't know what Miss Andre is smoking? To think that my identity is safer by trusting the United States Postal Service in getting this vital piece of imformation to my mail box when you see they have recently found letters thats been lost for over 80 years its kind of stupid if you ask me. She hasn't convinced me that im to feel safer with this process. I figure the Iowa DOT logo will be on the return address of this envelope and any person will now know what it is by feel and from return address I would sure think? Just how they can think this is gonna make it tougher to obtain ones identity is beyond me?
I thought it was pretty safe the way it was you had to present your drivers license that was about to expire to the DMV in person and pay the fees have your new picture taken and received a new on the spot which made it pretty hard to steal someones identity at that point from a drivers license unless you lost it after this process. This sure doesn't make me feel safer at all about having my identity stolen now. Thanks to the Iowa Department of Transportation for trying to fix something that didn't seem to be broken and looks like it made it easier for our identity to be stolen. Ms. Andre goes on to say quote: "The licenses will not go through the U.S. Post Office, but will instead be sent to a separate facility where they are mixed in with other mail "so there's nothing that tells anyone that they're worth stealing," Andre said. "There are some pretty secure methods to send the licenses." I don't know how she figures it will get to my mailbox any other way than U.S. postal service? And if it goes to a separate facility this is supposed to make me feel safe? Are they gonna pay for everything should our driver license cards and our identity gets stolen thanks to this process? Any sort of thief I think would be able to tell there is some sort of rigid card in any particular piece of mail. And I would think they would take it on mere chance of getting a credit card or now your drivers license. Gee thanks now i got to live in fear for 10 days after renewing my drivers license til I get it in my mail that "WILL NOT" go through the U.S. Post Office but yet will show up in my U.S. Post office mail box out at the end of my driveway. If you figured this one out your doing better than I am. Good Luck fellow Iowans upon renewal of your licenses.

Possible Iowa Gas Tax increase?

I have read that our Iowa legislators are wanting to hike our gas tax. Democratic Sen. Tom Rielly from Oskaloosa predicted today that lawmakers could approve an 8 to 10 cent a gallon increase in the tax, now at 20.7 cents a gallon. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20090130/NEWS/90130019 Rielly is chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. Because gas was so high last summer we drove less bought less gas so there is less tax money for road repairs. I know one thing when gas was getting to $4.00 a gallon I sure didn't buy much so with tough economic times why do they want to stick it to us when were down? For some strange reason the Democrats seem to think its ok to have gas $5.00 a gallon or more.

It should make the eco nuts happy we are driving less and putting less carbon dioxide in the air. But the down side is were putting in less tax money to repair roads and bridges maybe they should remember this when they drive over a bridge and keep in mind will it stay up or collaspe into the creek or river? As the one did in Minneapolis. Thats something I never used to think about much til that happened.

I think they figure now is the time to sneak this in as gas is alot lower and people won't mind paying more. I do realize we need more money for projects of repair but seriously do we want our irresponsible Iowa government running with the money they will collect from this tax hike? How can we be sure that this money collected will all be spent back on our roads and highways?

I like the fact I can fill up alot cheaper and enjoy driving more than I did last summer. I made my trips count lined up several things to do and make one trip out of them. I sure didn't like being couped up at home might as well just threw some bars over the windows. I spent more time at home than a person under house arrest last year. If our state government pushes gas prices higher again they will have huge short falls in road fund taxes like we do now. I'm sure they are planning for the $220 million to come in from this tax hike and making plans to spend $250 million or more. Then what happens if gas prices spike again as rumours of Pres. Obama taking off shore drilling back off the table? How about making some plans for spending less ? This is a neat idea our state reps. seem to have forgotten. Like this year they claimed of making big budget cuts but yet its still the biggest Iowa budgets ever and set to increase next year also. Lets rein in the spending here folks we can't spend our way out of debt or I would have done it already.

I have returned

Sorry for the long drought of not writing. I had a very busy year last year i got hit by a tornado 2 days after my last post and the rest of the year has kind of been a blur. And I got bit overwhelmed by trying to think of stuff to write about everyday on here.

Where should i begin? I wanted to believe Barack Obama that he was tired of the same ole same in Washington but he is nothing but a big hypocrit. He has brought back most of the Clinton administration for his cabinet this is more of the same. He said there would be no lobbyists in his White House i believe there is least 12 former lobbyists now employed in his administration. And his Secretary of the Treasury can't even remember to pay his own taxes or did he simply think he was above it and didn't neet to pay them?

For one our former wonderful Governor Tom "Winnie the Pooh" Vilsack. Yes Winnie the Pooh this clown actually wore this costume while reading to some children, and now hes the Agriculture Secretary. Tell me just what does a lawyer know about corn wheat soybeans hay cows and pigs? I bet he could tell you he can sue you if your cows smell or pigs smell and its offensive to anyone. Vilsack was a registered lobbyist and is a global warming nut case. If any of you live in the midwest or most of the country this year there sure hasn't been any warming in my neck of the woods matter of fact the coldest temp I have ever seen in the part of Iowa I live in happened on Jan. 15th 2009 as it got to -27 below zero F. And Al the nut case Gore says global warming is causing these brutal winters ? I was figureing global warming was gonna be warmer than normal winters and super hot summers last time we set any new record summer high in our hottest months was 21 years ago.

Pres. Obama also wanted bipartisan help from repubilican party on the stimulus bill meanwhile the rest of congress wouldn't allow one amendment to be added by any republican. He wanted to be transparent but so far hes not held up his end of the bargain there. His first tv broadcast wasn't even to the American people but to arab and muslim world. I think he figures no sense talking to us he's already elected and no need to talk to the close to 50 million of us who voted against him he won deal with it and to accept him and pitch in and help this country get back on its feet. And this has all happened in the first 10 days of his administration. All I can say is its gonna be a long 4 years at least. How much will we continue to borrow against our future? Or is this a master plan by the world governments to create one New World Order or a World monitary system erase all debts and start with this new world currency? I know one thing you dont get out of a hole by digging it deeper and deeper. I don't know what kind of future were gonna have but it sure looks like a rocky road. Hang in there folks.

School Brat upset at teacher calling him pathetic

I recently heard about this little 5 year old who taped his teacher calling him pathetic. I wonder just how far he had pushed her that day for her to make that comment? I would love to know if his parents told him to take the recorder and intentionally act up in class to get a stressed out teacher to say that? If this little brat thinks this is terrible then he should have went to school with my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Bickle she was retiring the year i had her so she was old school teacher take no crap from no kid. She packed a ping pong paddle and she used it to ! Then if i acted up and got swatted she sent home a note that she had to do that and guess what i got it again from my dad when he got to the house from farming and doing chores.
I also had a mean 5th grade teacher Mrs. Pearson and i seen her open hand slap a kid in front of me across the face one day for cursing in her class room. Did we whine, complain? Hell no we took our punishment and it made better humanbeings out of us none of our class has been in big trouble with the law or went to prison far as i know.
Sad part is these kids today are taught from the get go that no one at school can spank them they can do what ever they want pretty much with little or no consequences. And they are taught if mom or dad spank you let us know we can stop it. And look what kind of society its breeding because of it we see more and more kids bringing guns to school and shooting classmates and teachers. When i was in school there was several kids who drove to school and they had gun racks in their trucks.
I think its time we bring a couple things back into the school system and back in homes its called discipline let the teacher whack the kid on the butt if that dont seem to do the trick take him to the principal and let him give it a try. If we continue to let these little brats walk all over us what kind of world are we gonna have when they get in their teens and older. They pretty much seem to not give a dam about the law because they have been taught that there is little or no consequences for their actions. Then they wonder why they end up in prison when they commit a crime. I see way to many have little or no respect for life. I see to many young people die from shootings or go to prison for doing the shootings. Its time we need to take control of our kids once again and tell the dam government to butt out and raise our kids like they used to be!

High Gas Prices Got you down to?

Has the high gas prices effected your living? The gas prices have really affected my daily living. I live on a fixed income and i don't hardly go anywhere now im pretty much became a hermit. When i make trips to town i lump all i can on one trip groceries, doctor, medicine and back home no more sunday joy trips cuts down on visiting friends as well. Its really sad at $2 dollar a gallon gas it didn't hurt to bad but when it costs 40 bucks to fill my little 4 cyclinder car i can only afford that once maybe twice a month. And when i go to the store now i get sticker shock there! Bread has gone up from a year ago of .68 cents to .84 cents a loaf 2 weeks ago to $1.12 last night. Ground turkey took a big jump in price i was buying it, it was $1.48 a pound looked last night it was $1.98 a pound. I know one thing if gas gets as high like it is in Europe its gonna majorly cripple this country, people will be working to feed their car just to get to work wont have much money left for anything else like house payment or food utilities. And its only get worse. Get ready for a wild ride folks its gonna get ugly and uglier. Oil and fuel prices will start the world into a great depression im thinking. People will get to the point where they can't afford to fuel car to go to work, food prices increase so you get less food for your money its got to have a nasty ending somewhere down the road. I am told im to adapt to alternate means of transportation just how in the hell am i going to do that? The only means of transportation that dont use gasoline is bicycle, horse, and your feet. Well when your 15 miles from a Walmart or big town to get some groceries that wipes out walking and riding a bicycle. Besides bicycle riding is out for me i got bad knees and hips. I have no objection if some sort of mass transit was available near me like going to a street corner and catching a bus or passenger train but that just dont exist out here in middle of no where Iowa. Towns are so far apart and they are usually small. They cant afford to create some sort of mass transit system. Most trains are ran by diesel fuel or buses thats over $4.50 a gallon. If some sort of new car came out that ran on hydrogen it would be along time before many millions of Americans could afford one of those, so what are we to do in the mean time? Also we are told to move to the cities the area of city where i could afford rent i wouldn't want to live in the bad part of town how many of us are willing to want to do that ? Somewhere down the road gas and oil is gonna price itself to high for a average person to afford it and be able to buy groceries let alone pay other bills.
I think the price of oil is nothing more than a money grab and its being driven by these eco-terrorists as i call them trying to reduce the green house gases. They want us to be living like they did in dark ages for that to happen many people will have to starve to death first. It's gonna be something i don't want to see coming but its most definitely coming. I hope these nuts who are so dead set against destroying the United States are happy getting rich what they gonna do when this country turns into a 3rd world country? They have some tropical island to live on?It's just very sad to see this happening.

This is the best we got to run this country?

I think it's pretty sad if this is the best this country has to offer for President of the United States. Out of 0ver 300 million people we get these clowns to vote for. I am so fed up with this longest friggin election i dont ever care to do again for what? Was it someones plan to make it so long that people get so fed up with it they wont go vote thats what im thinking?
And so what, we here in Iowa have the first in the nation caucus we got to choose from a large field of candidates but seems like every time we get to do that the winner we pick never makes it much further on. I also feel for the final states who get to vote in the primaries they get to vote for what is left and maybe their first choice has long since dropped out of the race. I think we ought to do this voting alot closer together so the rest of the country gets better variety of choice as well and maybe we can pick a better candidate possibly ? Who knows?
Now come November i will have a choice of John Mccain or Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama it seems at the moment who will get the nomination. I would love to have a box on the ballot that says none of the above if none of the above got the most votes we have another election and none of the above can run again for 4 more years. I want to do my partiotic thing and cast my vote but i sure am not voting for any of these clowns. Is there really a lesser of two evils to vote for anymore ? Or i can vote for what i feel is the most evil of the lot and help run the country in the ground even further. So we have quite a bit of choices and none seem very dam good from the outlook of things. Will i feel justified if i write in Mickey Mouse?
No I don't want Mccain who i feel is to old and tempermental and 4 more years of Bush policies. Nor do i want Obama and or Clinton's universal health care that won't work in a bankrupt country. I seen the type of health care my nephew got in canada he was put on waiting lists since it wasn't a emergency do any of you want to be on a waiting list for 6 months or more just to do simple operations ? It's to late now its down to the 3 and soon to be 2 and then we got to make a choice of those oh joy.

Living in the Boonies finally has a draw back

I've lived here in rural Iowa for 42 years and i love where i live its quiet and peaceful. Has a beautiful view specially when fall comes its real pretty valley. The sad part is going to town now and getting groceries or something you need. I live just about in the middle of 4 towns and each is least 15 miles one way this never used to seem like alot til now. If i drive to town and use maybe 3 gallon of gas for the trip, there went almost $11.00 dollars and i haven't even bought anything at the store yet. I really don't want to sell the house and move to town but some day i realize i will have not much choice. Who would buy the old farm house in middle of no where? It's rough living on a fixed income and trying to deal with this high gas prices. It is real depressing i can't just hop in the car and putt to town and grab a snack or eat out.
So far i been trying to put more effort out at home i planted my garden yesterday i am pleased with what i got put in. It really sucks being single no one to talk to. I have never been married had a couple of relationships but they faded away. There are times when i enjoy my privacy and others i just want to have someone to be around to talk to.
I never dreamed gas would ever get this high. If it gets over $4.00 or 5.00 a gallon it might as well go on to $10 cause i can't afford it at 4.00 a gallon so it really wouldn't matter. It will really cripple this country. I seen a silly magazine story that tells me i need to use mass transit umm ok now just how the hell am i going to invent a subway system here in midwest or lots of busses so that people from these little towns can get to town and back cheaply? That article made me laugh it's great for those who live in a city that has that.
If and when gas gets over 4 dollars a gallon someone has to step up and do something. So much for our commander and chief. I don't think i have seen such a worthless president as Bush has turned out to be, i am totally sad that this clown got elected. And why would he say something he along with his oil buddies are getting super rich. If i was president i would demand that gas prices be froze at a lower rate for 6 months to a year people would then have more money to spend on goods and services vacations and the economy would pick up. The oil companies ought to be able to afford it for awhile they are after all making record profits and if gas was froze say at 2.00 gallon people would buy more gas more often least i would and i would have more money to spend on other goods and things. I don't see how the economy can pick up if people are putting 1/4 of thier pay checks in the gas tank each week. It's just unreal and to all the people who thought we just went into Iraq to steal their oil well jokes on you dumb dumbs were sure enjoying the cheap gas aren't we?

Where's it going to end with gas prices and food?

I just got back from a very memorable trip. I took the Greyhound, i rode to Evansville Indiana round trip for $102.00 i couldn't have drove there for that price.Let alone the round trip i figured it would cost me around $220 in gas.But getting back home reality sat in and weighed down on me hard.As my friend went to the gas station to fuel up his Jeep it took 14 gallons and a cool $50 dollar bill.
Here i am thinking im on a fixed income as alot of people are i am staying home alot more i don't have no choice. If i decide to put like $50 bucks in the gas tank then im not getting as many groceries as i could few years ago. It's just down right depressing and the sad part of it is where is it gonna end? I only see it getting worse it's sad when we can look back and complain about gas getting to $1.50 a gallon that was the good old days compared to nows outrageous rip off.
I keep waiting for our good ole commander and chief to step up and do something about it but since he's a oil man himself he and his buddies are getting stupidly rich while we go broke and/or hungry. If he wanted to stimulate the economy why not freeze the price of gasoline and diesel?Set the fuel prices at $2.00 a gallon people would have more money to buy other goods that would do more for the economy than putting most of a pay check in a gas tank each week.
Then i seen a magazine encouraging me to ride the bus or subway more well in my neck of the woods of iowa there is no local transit bus that makes runs every half hour or so no commuter trains or passenger train im 30 mile round trip from town and don't have alot of choices. I could sell my house and move to the city who would want to buy a old house 30 miles from no where with skyrocketing gas prices?Food prices have gone way up thanks to the increasing cost of diesel fuel.I hope that these yuppie global eco nuts that seem to be helping drive up gas and diesel fuel so high that it makes millions go without food will feel good when it's drove the country or the world into a depression.I don't know what's coming for sure but to me it's more scary than anything Al Gore can cook up. What i see is real and its here right now and getting worse by the week. I'm not least bit worried about something coming down the road 40-50 years from now i don't plan on being around by then since im 42 now.Besides our local weather can't predict a forecast right over 12 hours anymore so im not to worried about 40 years down the road. But one thing you can predict for sure is higher gas prices and higher food prices they are a reality and getting bigger and badder. When will it stop and how? You sure don't see the greed mongers stepping up and trying to do something about it when they are getting rich.In the mean time since i got plenty of time to kill at home now i plan on spending time in my garden. Hang on people i don't think we're to the top of this roller coaster yet.

Smoking Ban Passed Welcome to the Nanny State of Iowa

A sad event happened April 8th, 2008 here in Iowa. Today lawmaker's passed a state wide smoking ban all except casino's and veteran's homes. They care all about your health everywhere in Iowa but in the casino you can smoke to your hearts content and spend your money in the slot machines. I would look into the profits that will jump from the companies that sell stop smoking patchs and pills. It's one thing to say it's for the better of the people meanwhile someone is getting super rich selling the patchs and pills. They have spent alot of money lobbying the issue to get passed. I wouldn't be surprised the diet pill industry lobby's next for obese people to be banned from eating out. I read about a Mississippi state lawmaker who proposed a bill that would ban restraunts from serving obese people. They would have to have a scale at the front door of the restraunt and you would have to come and weigh in under the government mandated height and weight standards to be able to be served. I don't believe the bill passed but the idea is out there now. It's scary to think about what they will decide to take away from us next? And what possibly could be the next thing they will take away from us here in Iowa? Make all coffee, tea and soft drinks caffeine free? Make all violent video games illegal to own? Make it illegal to smoke at home if you have children or pets? Prohibit obese people from buying certain foods at the grocery store? We need to stand up and speak out for our rights while we still have some left. Instead of laying down and then cry in our Wheaties afterwords. It's much easier to stop a bill like this before it becomes a law then afterwords. Sad part is people are getting rich and restraunts and bars are closing left and right. We're not to far down the interstate from Minneapolis Minnesota. A estimated 182 bars and restraunts in Minneapolis area have closed since they passed their smoking ban just a few years ago. I feel it will effect the bars the most.I just can't see how all the non smokers will keep the bars and restraunts open. Same way if obese would be banned from dining out the percentage of skinny people can't possibly keep all the restraunts going.I know some will close in Iowa in the future just how many? I know i would not bother going to the bar if i couldn't light up and relax and enjoy a beer and a smoke. And i don't even smoke.
This reminds me of the people who threw a fit because they didn't like something they heard on the radio well the radio has 2 knobs one changes the channel and the other turns it on or off. But a select few who didn't like a certain show gets it taken off for the 1000's or more who did enjoy listening to it. July 1'st 2008 will be a even sadder day as the smoking ban takes effect. I think i will find me a communist flag and fly it.I think i still have the freedom to fly a flag yet.
So much for our freedoms and i don't even smoke but i feel something down the road will be effecting me soon and it's just a matter of time before something will be effecting more and more of us. Below are links to the 3 things i talked about.

http://cleanairquality.blogspot.com/2007/01/100-bars-and-restaurants-put-out-of.html
http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/4524
http://www.kcci.com/politics/15822093/detail.html

Climate Change A Conveint Lie

I can tell it's officially spring as robins are bouncing around the yard. Geese are flying north once again and flowers are coming up and Al Gore has come out of hibernation! I have been wondering where he has been in the midst of Iowa's worst winter in many years not to mention a large part of the United States had more snow and record cold than ever as well. We finished in the top 10 snowiest winters since they have kept records in Iowa. I pointed out to my friend you sure haven't seen nor heard much about Mr. Gore since he had got his Noble Fraud Prize. It's amazing, this joker is more than the average snake charmer he's so smooth he could sell a air conditioner to a eskimo.
Isn't it strange that he will not debate ANYONE on the subject of climate change? Maybe because a climatologist with ton's of satelite data and temprature charts wouldn't take long to make him look like the clown he is. What's he so afraid of if he's so sure and certain. Why are we are only getting his side of the story and no one else's? I can tell you why he's pushing the Go Green agenda. Because he's invested heavily into it like a traveling snake charmer who bought a load of nasty tasting Dr Feel Good's Miracle Cure All. Now he has to push this stuff down our throat in order to make the money back. Mean while he wants you and i to cut back on our driving and traveling by jet and cut back on our electricity use.Well i got my recent eletric bill it was $32.00 as i live by myself. But it's just fine for him to ride in his gulfstream private jet and around in limo's.Just monday night he was on tv and he flew a load of reporters including Leslie Stahl over to India to talk to a crowd of 100 people. Now last time i checked, India has a population over 1 billion people. Yet its only important enough for him and bunch of reporters to fly clear to India mean while putting more green house gases in the air than the average person does all year in matter of hours just to speak to a mere 100 people out of 1 billion. Is this all he could find who would believe this nonsense ?
Doe's he not know of satelite communications hook up ? He could stay at home and broadcast his message and help out the climate by not traveling.
He wants to reduce green house gases by the year 2050 by 90% if anyone has really thought about that figure you better think again. I got to thinking in order to do that we would practically have no cars on the highways.Coal powered power plants would be shut down. Most of the semi's would be off the highways.Plane travel would be almost non existent. And alot of our remaining industry would have to shut down or come up with real expensive means to keep the gases down to requirements. It would literally take us back to the 1600's. With all the major cities relying on trucks or trains to bring food and produce into them on a daily basis this would have to remain. Or in matter of week all food supplies in those large cities would be gone.Let's say if the 10% gases we maintain is just from trucks. Not much would be left producing anything with a 10% mandate of that. Then we turn to trains and subway most run on electricity. If we shut down all the coal powered power plants that would shut down most trains and plunge the country into darkness as the powergrid is strained now the way it is since we keep adding new houses at half million a year. And no new coal powerplants have been built in over 30 years.
I seriously want him to do a debate on national tv with climatologists and scienctists who can prove he's nothing more than a con artist. He's trying to scare us how warm the world is gonna be 40 years from now when our local weather service can't predict it correctly 12 hours in advance. And we all know the world has been warmer in dinosaur days and colder in the last ice age.Im not to worried.
I got looking at the average monthly temps records for Iowa. Only 2 months since 1980 made the list for warmest average temp. August 1983 83.3 degrees November 2001 49.8 degrees. And the coolest average temps September 1993 59.2 degrees,December 1983 9.8 degrees. 1983 and 1936 are bit in common.February 1936 was coldest avg. temp of 8.0 degrees and yet had many record high's that summer. 1983 was a pretty warm summer to yet December of 1983 was coldest avg temp of 9.8
Please look at all the facts before you make up your mind.I've noticed it's not global warming its climate change now we have 4 climate changes every year Winter to Spring,Spring to Summer,Summer to Fall and Fall back to Winter. No way he makes me believe his line of pure Bull crap when the facts and figures of temprature records can be looked up and don't support any warming.

Global Warming In Iowa I sure dont see it Part 2

I did some more research on the subject this morning. Heres the record highs for Iowa's winter months October 1-March 31.
October the most recent record high temp is 88 degrees on 20th October 2003.The record high for October is 95 on 5th Oct. 1963. The average record high temp for the month is 87.90, most recent date the temp broke the average record high was 88 degrees on October 20,2003. 1963 was the warmest October the average temp of 76.4 degreees.
November the most recent record high temp is 76 degrees on November 16th,2001.The record high is 82 on November 1st,1938.Average record high temp 73.66 degrees. The most recent that was topped is 76 degrees on November 16th 2001. Warmest November 59.5 in 2001.This has been the only month ive noticed that has set a recent record for warmest month with average temp.
December most recent record high 59 degrees on December 15th 2002.Record high for the month is 69 degrees set in Dec 24th,1889 and tied on Dec 28th 1984.The average record high temp for the month is 63.48 degrees the most recent date to top that for a record high is 67 degrees on December 4th 1998.The warmest December on record is 1889 with a average temp of 48.2 degrees.
January is a quite extreme month in Iowa.It can go from -30 below to +67.Most recent record high is 60 degrees on Jan.2nd 2004.The record high for the month is 67 set in 2003.Average record high temp for the month is 59.83 The most recent record to break the average high is 60 degrees on Jan 2, 2004.The warmest January is in 1880 average monthly temp of 45.2 degrees.
February most recent record high is 66 on Feb 10th,1999. The record high for the month is 78 set on Feb 24th,1930.The average record high temp for the month is 66.07 degrees the most recent day the temp topped that for a record high is Feb 21st,1991 67 degrees. The warmest February was in 1954 of 48.1 degrees average.
March the most recent record March 7th 2003 77 degrees. The record high for March is 91 degrees set on March 29th 1986.The average record high temp for March is 79.63 the most recent record to top that is March 26th 1991 87 degrees. The warmest March is 1910 63.4 average temp degrees.
Another note for March on the 27th its the average first day of the year we have a 70 degree day well this year it's come and gone and we have yet to have a 70 degree day so far in Iowa a very typical old style spring like i remembered when i was a kid. I would say that with the slight spike in temps from 2001 and so far ending in Jan 04 i think i would check out the solar flair activity during this time frame.Sure we have had some warm days but only a small hand full nothing to be getting so alarmed about. What would Al Gore do if he was making his claims and it was coming up on the summer of 1934 or 1936 theres so many records on the books from those summer heat waves but remember folks that wasnt global warming then. And there hasnt been a record high in our 3 hottest months in 20 years. You make up your mind but i sure have my mind made up all i see is Mr Gore schemeing to get rich from his investments in these Go Green world he's pushing. Think about how many cars would not be on the road nor coal powered plants going if he gets his way of reducing the green house gas emissions by 90% by 2050.Looks like he wants to put us in the dark ages to get the net results of that much lowered emissions. Don't let this jerk pull the wool over your eyes !

Global Warming In Iowa I sure dont see it

I got looking at the record highs for our spring through summer months from April 1, to September 31st. I found out some interesting figures that come to light here in Iowa. Lets start with April, the most recent record high i could find in April in Des Moines Iowa according to the National Weather Service is 87 degrees on April 14th,2003. The record high for April is 93 degrees set on April 22,1980. I took all the records highs for the month of April and averaged them out it came to 87.9 the last record high date set that topped the average temp number was 88 degrees on April 6th,1991.
The month of May's most recent record high is 93 on May 11,2000.The record high for May is 105 degrees on May 30th 1934 The monthly average record highs temps comes to 93.7 degrees. The most recent day to top that temp was 98 degrees on May 25th,1967.
June the most recent record high temp set is 103 on June 21,1988. The record high it tied of 103 set June 26th 1934.The average record high temp for the month is 99.6 the most recent record set in June that topped the average of 99.6 is 102 degrees on June 24,1988.
July is the most strange month. It's Iowa's hottest month. But i found the most recent record high temp set in July is 105 on July 31,1955 yes thats 1955 not 2005. Some 53 years ago.The record for the month of July is 110 on July 25th,1936. The record high average for July is 105.06 the most recent day that topped that average record high temp was 108 on July 26,1936 some 72 years ago, does this sound like global warming so far?
August's most recent record high was 104 on August 17th,1988. The record high for August is 110 on the 4th of August 1918. The record high average for the month is 102.64 the most recent day that topped that is August 17th 1988 104.
September the most recent record is 98 on Sept.2nd,2000. The record high for September is 101 on Sept. 7th 1939.The average record high is 92.9 the most recent day a record in September topped that is 97 on September 11th,2000. I just dont figure the global warming thing out when i take our summer months and look at the figures. One interesting fact that i found is 17 out of the 31 days in July in Iowa the record high was set in 1934 or 1936 and nothing more recent than 1955.No other month has any record heat that can match 1934 or 1936 for that amount of record high days of a month. Least i sure don't see it looking at Iowa's records. Here's where i found my information from the Government's National Weather Service.Do your own state and crunch some numbers and see what comes out.
http://www.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=dmx

Money and lack of Brains

I've seen lately another example of more money than brains. When someone can sell a corn flake that supposedly looked like the shape of the state of Illinois and get
$1350.00 dollars for it. Im thinking i should be getting a case of corn flakes and dump them out and start going through them for this kind of money. What in the heck is this world coming to?
I have been out bid by morons on Ebay for a used item that you can still buy brand new for less. I was hoping to get it for less than new store price and i was called a sore loser for pointing this out to him that his final bid price and shipping was more than you could go buy it brand spanking new. So thats what i did I sent him a thank you email and went to the store and got it. I hope he enjoyed his over priced possibly scratched used DVD lol. While i watched it from a new untouched DVD!
I used to like going to Ebay and bidding on items. But when you run into some idiots who just has to have it at any cost it sours me to the site.I have since found other sites where i don't have to out bid someone and spend more for the item than it would cost me to pick it up in town. Now if its something that is antique and hasn't been made in along time and someone wants it bad enough i can see something along that line. I guess that money is burning a hole in their pocket as my dad would say.
I've seen poker chips recently on Ebay. A $ 5.00 dollar chip selling for $ 8.00 dollars plus $3.00 shipping thats $11.00 return on a $ 5.00 purchase not bad at all, alot better odds getting more money back than trying your hand at poker or black jack this way your guarenteed not to lose.
Last winter or year before someone from the Colorado area sold a cooler full of snow a free item on Ebay someone out in eastern United States paid like $ 400.00 so their kids could have a snow ball fight cause they had a real mild winter and lack of snow.
After the winter we had here in the midwest for 2007-08. I would have gave anyone the 3 feet of snow all over my yard for FREE !
Makes me wonder what ever happened to COMMON SENSE in this world?

Voting Get off your duff and do something

Here's something that bugs me. One of my sisters believes that since she doesn't vote that she is exempt from all problems that arrise from the elections. And she has more right to complain about things going on because she didn't vote for the current leaders who created this mess. She feels i who did vote have no right to complain because i voted and now things are a mess that i helped create it by voting.
What she doesn't see is by her not voting it effects her to down the road to. What if a candidate running for President or a Senator wanted to do away with her Social security? Would she sit back and not vote against him? And after a person like that wins, Would she say? You voted for him now live with it. There are to many people out there who believe that, or they think their vote dont count so why go vote? Well guess what? It won't count if you dont get out and exercise your right to vote. It's like the lottery you can't win if you don't buy a ticket.
I feel better for going out to vote even though who i voted for might have lost but least i tried to make some changes.
I know some people feel its to much trouble to go vote, they made it so easy now you can do it from home with the absentee ballot.I seen a elderly woman come in last time i voted. She walked very slowly with a walker. She walked to the machine and pushed one button either Democratic or Republican straight ticket. Most likely she didn't have a clue who she just voted for but least she got out and did something. Now if a elderly person with a walker can get out on election day and vote what the is stopping you from getting out of the recliner or off the couch?
We can make a change for things that we Americans want not what politicians in Washington want.So im challenging Americans to get off their arse's and cast your vote! If you don't like who is running then write in yourself show them your upset and feel you can do a better job. By all means vote for your state representatives show them your fed up with the path they have led us down. They will get re-elected if you choose to sit on your butt and do nothing. Show me you still care about this great country while we still can.Let's take back our country!

Riots in our Future?

Will there be mass riots in our future? If i we're a betting man i would lay money on it. Here's how i see it to come down it's pretty simple. With Hillary Clinton being behind in the delegate count, Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton will have enough to win the Democratic party's nomination.
And with all the new negative stuff coming out about Barack Obama's pastor and his ties to his church he attended for 20 years, new imformation about the New Black Panther Party and a link to their website on his website. Here's how i figure it will go down.
At the convention Hillary will plead to the super delegates to support her as she will claim that with all the negatives that has come up about Obama he is unelectable and will face sure defeat in November,to throw the votes her way so she gets the party's nomination. And when that happens alot of people will be so upset and the fight is on, I dont think i want to be anywhere near that convention in Denver in August. It won't just be there only, i feel the big cities will be having mass problems from the fall out of this. As the people will feel and say they have been robbed by the white man or woman in this case once more. I see only one way that this will keep from happening.
That would be i think Obama quitting and leaving the race before it gets to the convention in August.
We know Hillary isn't going to walk away from the nomination the Clinton's are to power hungry and i dont see Obama walking away either when he is in the lead with the most delegates. Look out later this summer for the fur to fly. Just my thoughts and feelings but this seems likely to me i sure hope i'm wrong.
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/03/19/obama-web-site-still-carries-new-black-panther-party-endorsement/

Florida Do Over

I'm sorry folks of Florida and Michigan now isn't the time to start complaining your vote doesn't count. You should have been complaining and expressing your major concern your vote wouldn't count when your state legislatures went ahead with the plans for primarys to be moved up last summer even though the Democratic National Committee told them your delegates would not be seated at the Convention in August if they went ahead and moved up the dates. They went and did it anyways! And why wasn't you people complaining then and throwing a fit?
If you wanted your vote to count you should been calling your local representatives and raised cane with them to leave it alone last summer not well after the fact. I don't feel a bit sorry for the democrats in these states, and now isn't the time to whine and moan.
Will a so called do over be at all fair now to the candidates that was still in the battle back in January?
This should be a lesson to those who should have listened and followed the rules. The rules was broken last summer by the leaders of these states. They knew the consequences and the outcome of it and it should not be overturned with a Do-Over.
I wonder if the native indians who first welcomed the settlers at Plymouth Rock would like a do over now seeing the outcome of what has happened since then? How about General Lee maybe he would like a do over of the Battle of Gettysburg now that he seen how it went wrong? How about General George Custer think he would like to had a do over after his regiment got wiped out at the Battle of Little Big Horn? I wonder if President Kennedy would like a do over not to visit Dallas Texas on a fateful day in November? Next time i get a speeding ticket i will ask the police officer if i can have a Do Over?! See what kind of remark i would get from him. I know the consequences of speeding before i do it.You knew the outcome of moving up the primary dates. Now deal with the outcome.
I suggest the people in Florida and Michigan better get ahold of their state reps, and demand they change the date of primarys back to what it was so their voices and votes will count. This sure hasn't been a republician made mess this is their own doings and the democratic party leaders of these states ignored the warning and consequences. I feel you should have to live with that til the next election time.Wake up people.

Inspiration from a Unlikely Source

I came across this by accident as i was looking on Google tonight for closing remarks to a old television show so i typed in Red Skelton as i thought he might have said the quote i was searching for. My parents and i watched his show on television when i was a young kid in the late 60's and early 70's til his show ended.
I came across this video on YouTube and im telling you i watched it listened carefully and was brought to tears by this. It's called Red Skelton's Pledge of Alligence his teacher had taught him when he was in school.
Listen as he talks as the teacher did to him as a student explaining the meaning of each word of the Pledge of Alligence. And pay close attention to the part where the people dictate things to the government not the government to us,that this is a government for the people and by the people things sure have flipped flopped around on that.
And the very end of the video got real emotional for me as he says i quote " Since i was a young boy 2 states have been added to the United States of America and two words have been added to the Pledge of Alligence, Under God, wouldn't it be a pity if someone thought this was a prayer and it would be removed from the schools to?" You could tell he got emotional after saying that at the end.
Just imagine someone doing that on the television now days you would have so many anti- christians and anti -americans outraged they would want the show taken off the air.
Sad to say Red Skelton passed on several years ago. The clip from the show was dated Jan 14,1969 hard to believe not even 40 years later and Under God and prayer has both been removed from schools and look at the sorry state of the schools now its scary sending your child off to school. Specially teenagers alot have a lack of respect for the country and or about anyone older or younger than they are.
Some have brung guns to school and kill classmates and teachers so they feel they will get their few seconds of fame. Because someone hasn't taught them or allowed them to love this country and love God and be able to say a prayer or taught them the freedoms we have and who died for us to keep us free to enjoy those freedoms so hardly fought for.
When i was in school i could pray in class if i chose to and when us kids said the Pledge of Alligence in the morning before class started the schools was alot better off and safer place to be. So was it so wrong to have God in school ? Please watch the video from The Red Skelton Show and tell me what you think? Did it move you? I truely loved seeing this blast from the past that i think more people who are patriotic and truely love this country ought to show this to their children.
http://www.youtube.com/v/Kfz2XDXaeqc&hl=en

KCCI TV calls homeless campers

I love how we rename things to make it sound better for some people. There was a nasty accident on Interstate 35 this morning a truck driver died at the scene of a crash. The semi went off a bridge and crashed into the river. There was some homeless men living under the bridge and now they are merely campers! Who would camp in the weather we've had? No one unless your homeless.
I feel sorry for these people way the weather has been in Iowa you would'nt want to be outdoors camping when its been snowing so much and blowing and with wind chills of -30 below zero and the temp at night below zero at night or close to it.
But some how our local news station KCCI-channel 8 of Des Moines, Iowa makes it all seem better they wasn't poor homeless people they are just campers.
I do feel so sorry for the driver and the family of the driver who died a horrible death. But when we rename something to make us feel better about the poor people who are homeless i get upset. Because we're so worried about offending someone. We might offend the guys if we we're to call them homeless. Ok how about we call them housing challenged ? When i was a kid and there was name calling or things said like that i was told to toughen up grow some tougher skin so it will slide off. I don't know what to call these wimps and yuppies anymore who are offended by everything and anything except grow up and deal with it!
http://www.kcci.com/news/15562272/detail.html

Role Models

Way to go Governor Eliot Spitzer of New York your a fine example for your young kids in New York State to look up to. Getting busted in a Federal wire tap prostitution ring. I'm sure your own children Mr. Spitzer sure look up to their dad now. I am so fed up with these people who are sports stars or politicians getting busted in drug rings, dog fighting, prostitution, or what ever other nasty crime they seem to to be committing.
Then some of these sports stars have the nerve to say they are not a role model for kids. Im sorry if you don't believe that or not alot of kids look up to their favorite sports stars as i did when i was young. And they want to do just like their idol. Meanwhile some of these people think their power of office makes it ok to do those crimes. And the sports stars seem to have the attitude that i make millions each season plus money i get for endorsements i will buy my way out of trouble.
It's time for people to wake up and realize your actions effect alot more people than you think they do. Let's start having some heroes were proud of once again not criminals who think what they did is all ok with a I'm sorry and a fine.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/11/spitzer/index.html

Tired of Presidential Race Yet ?

I don't know about you but is anyone tired of hearing speeches and promises made to the American people that never seem to be taken care of once they get elected? Just once come out and tell me i can't promise you a thing but i will try hard to do what i can for you once i am in office. And who's bright idea was it that we needed to start pounding these ads and appearances into the people for 2 years before the election? I'm so throughly sick of it i mute the television or shut it off i cant stand to hear Hillary's grating voice anymore, or Obama constantly hammering the word We Need Change, nor Juan McCain welcoming the droves of immigrants as were not to call them illegals to America. The weeks leading up to the Iowa Caucus's was awful if you was trying to watch local broadcasting. One week i taped the major channels of ABC,NBC,CBS,Fox during prime time from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Several of the candidates was averaging 4-5 ads a hour each. I was never so glad to see the Caucus's come and go and to see normal ads back on T.V. I sure hope someone dont get the bright idea to start the next election of 2012 soon as the next president is sworn into office next January.

Best we got in America?

Is this the best we can offer for President of the United States out of 300 million people?

I am so sick of these politicians who claim they are the best thing going for this country.

What ever happened to the true statesman, honorable men, respected, heroes? I havent had a hero ive really liked as President since i been alive. I look back to the men who in the past who made tough hard decisions to carry this country through in hard times and make it what is today. In last 20 years i sure havent had a President that made me feel like i could look to them as a beacon of strength.

In the past 24 years since i graduated high school i cannot believe how much things have changed in this country. The high school shootings for one. My highschool sits out in the country 3 miles from the nearest town. We had lot of farm boys who hunted, trapped, fished they had gun racks in their trucks and many came to school with a gun in their truck. We never dreamed of shooting anyone, if you had a beef you settled it man to man either up town after school or in the parking lot fist to fist. I seen many fight and most of the time the two combatants often ended up being good friends.

Back then we had prayer in school, ministers came around and passed out the little red bibles to us, our parents taught you right from wrong. Now days seems like parents throw the kid infront of the T.V. and let it teach the children.
